what have I been up to lately? class, study/hw, and PCN practices!

today I have my rough draft exemplification essay due... and a Math 10 midterm. last night, Jubert, Brittany, and I attempted to study for this shit in the library. eventually, we all just gave up and walked back to the dorms. now I am back at the library... I got here about an hour ago and it's always a mistake to bring my laptop to the library. distractions, distractions. however, I am on the 8th floor and sitting on a nice table overlooking downtown San Jose. oh how I love living in the heart of San Jose. oh, and listening to Sexy Can I. ;]

I gots English 1A at 1030. tabling for Akbayan 12-1. Math 10 midterm at 1:30. then I'm going to go frozen yogurt w/Jenny at our secret spot! mmm. I can already imagine that mango raspberry. then choir. then more PCN practice. yay for college. yay for iCal.

GREETINGS FROM THE PHILIPPINES!

yes, I am finally here in the Philippines! today is my fifth day here and it's a bittersweet experience. so much has happened and I'll just do a bullet thing. but for sure full update with pictures when I get back!

BITTER
-hundreds of squatters on the streets
-fumes in the air
-feeling bad for all the little kids walking around the streets trying to beg for money
-TRAFFIC
-people staring you down at the malls
-bug bites
-some family on my dad's sides lives
-waking up to roosters making their damn noises from 3am in the morning
-waking up at 4am on the first morning because of jetlag

SWEET
-huge ass malls
-GRANDPARENTS!
-walking/driving around the streets where my parents grew up
-cheap ass food (stay buying that C2 and chicharon!)
-seafoods!!! mmmm.
-Coca Colas everywhere
-stayed at the Discovery hotel for the first two nights in Manila... social status!
-studio tours at ABS-CBN!
-watching ASAP '08 live! who saw the RAMOS LACAP BAAAAY AREA SIGN!?
-this place called the Tiannge where they sell HELLA fake shit
-buy hella pasalubong coz it's hella cheap
-waking up, going downstairs to see the hot pan de sal and cornbeef waiting for you
-exercising some tagalog

okay this list isn't really cracken! I'm on a time limit at this internet cafe in one of the many malls called Market! Market! it's craaazy.

only in the Philippines...
-will there be church in the middle of the mall
-will there be 6 lanes in a 4 lane highway
-will you be waken up by roosters
-will your alarm be tricycles
-will there be people in the CRs helping you do shit
-will there be people opening doors for you
-will there be workers putting on shoes for you

I'm going to Boracay next week for 3 days, then 2 days later I am going back home to the Bay. as much as I want to stay here for the malls, food, and true VACATION, I miss the bay. this vacation is making me realize how fortunate I am in the states...

I spent my NYE with my family in Newark, sipped wine with my aunties... and spent the countdown w/the Reyes family! it was my first countdown without my any of my family so it was kinda weird, but the Reyes family [Lexie's family + Tina's family] really made me a part of their family throughout 2007 :) sipped some more wine at Tina's... then off to Alex's. it was a really fun party, the music was cracken, and all positive vibes for the new year! woke up in Tina's living room and I cut out coz my family wannid me home.

NY day, my cousins came over! Ruthie came over to chop up Nikki's hair. props props. visited Lexie at work and went to go play some cards, yessirrrrr.

this morning, I was gonna drive to South City but my mom took my car to the BART. so instead Ruth drove. we attended Jennifer Canlas' grandpa's funeral. it was a different vibe at the funeral from all the past ones I've been to. prayers and blessings towards the Canlas. afterwards, we went to the reception at a chinese buffet to eat chinese doughnuts... mmmm. Ruth took us to the puppy store! I really want a Shit-Zu! I've always been bugging my parents to get a puppy but they never give in. once I make enough money... and come up with 8hunnid, I'm gonna surprise my mom and get it... and she'll learn to love it. went to TW park to swing and talk about life.

now I am going to sleep, wake up, pack for the PI, and be social.
